Imurj – the Artists’ Cafe (a company that promotes local NC musicians and artists) and Crumbs Music (an online platform that provides premium music, simply licensed for placement into movies, TV shows, video games, and corporate use) are excited to announce a partnership to promote local NC musicians.

Karl Thor, owner of Imurj – the Artists’ Cafe, said, “When I was curating songs by local musicians for Imurj Radio, some of the songs immediately evoked visions of ‘Game of Thrones’ with Tyrion and Jamie Lannister riding their steeds into King’s Landing amid great pageantry!  Other songs evoked images of luxury cars, romantic restaurants, or video games.  I immediately thought I should try to connect Imurj members with a music supervisor to put their songs into TV shows, movies, and commercials.  My search happily led me to Ray Williams and Crumbs Music, located right here in Raleigh”.

Ray Williams, CEO at Crumbs music, discovered Elton John, introduced him to Bernie Taupin, and became his manager for his first five albums.   He signed Jeff Lynne and the Idle Race (Electric Light Orchestra), Gerry Rafferty (Stealers Wheel), and others in his early career and later became a music supervisor on over 70 TV and film projects including “The Last Emperor”, whose soundtrack won an Oscar and a Grammy, and worked with internationally-recognized composers such as Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat, Eric Serra, and Stanley Myers.

Ray explains, “Crumbs Music simplifies the music licensing process by providing a pre-cleared music rights platform with a simple rate card and a transparent agreement that allows producers to immediately download a song and use it with no negotiations, no delays, and no confusion.

Heather Burns, managing partner of Imurj, indicated, “With the plethora of recordings available to music supervisors, it is difficult for an artist’s music to be heard.  By providing Imurj members with an exclusive site to display their best songs within the Crumbs Music catalog, we hope to improve their chances of being heard, licensing their music, and generating revenue from their music career.  Importantly, the composer and master rights owner retains all their rights to the music.”

Crumbs Music is a music licensing company that specializes in providing pre-cleared music for use in motion pictures, television, web, advertising, gaming and new media productions and also offers Music Supervision, commissioned music, and consultancy.
